Overview

The Elders Care Home is set at the top of Ewell Village near all local amenities.

Ewell Village is near Epsom town centre, Epsom is famous for the Derby. Ewell Village is a lovely old character village with a good range of local shops, restaurants, tea shops and pubs. There is also a newsagents and Pharmacy. Bourne Hall is opposite our local St Mary’s Church and offers a library and also holds social functions. Bourne Hall gardens have a lovely lake and there is a tea shop nearby.

Local train stations are at both Ewell West and Ewell East and are just a short walk away giving easy access into London.

Our large Victorian House is well maintained, it is spacious and has character. In the mid 1900’s the house was a maternity hospital for the local community, one room was the hospital chapel.

There is an extension to the Home leading from the dining room and hall which houses a lovely large living room and conservatory, leading out onto a pleasant sunny patio area and large garden lawn. We have fruit trees growing in the lawned area giving the home an abundance of Victoria plums at harvest time.

Residents grow their own sunflowers, bedding plants, tomatoes and flowers from the patio gardens.

The Home is able to accommodate 23 residents all in single occupancy rooms; we have 11 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and 12 bedrooms near bathroom facilities. We have four assisted bathrooms and one assisted shower room.

You may bring your own furniture into the home if you wish and personalise your room to your taste. Rooms vary in size and outlook. All rooms within the home have a call bell system.

There are two sets of triple steps within the home; there is ease of access around the home by our mini stair lifts and the main lift from ground to first floor.

We offer external professional support services as well as a regular hairdressing, chiropody, optical and dentistry services. There are no restrictions on visiting from friends and family.

A good variety of seasonal meals are available to choose from, we cater for individual needs. Residents assist in the formulation of seasonal menus. Home made cakes are baked daily, and during the warmer seasons we regularly enjoy lunch or afternoon barbecues. test

food at the elders care home for older people in epsom

All meals are cooked freshly on the premises by our Cooks, Maria & Jane. Care staff support the service of breakfast and high tea.

We have a seasonal menu which the residents help to formulate, listening to their likes and dislikes, and open to all suggestions. Special requests can be catered for.

The menus are set on a four weekly rolling basis, offering a choice of good nutritious home cooked food; we review the menus to ensure that there is a good nutritional balance and options for those that may choose a vegetarian or specialised diet.

Breakfast time for residents can begin from around 07.00 onwards in the dining room or in the residents own room. Residents may choose to have a lie-in and take a lighter breakfast later. Cooked breakfast may be requested at any time and will be cooked to order.

We offer a choice of good old fashioned meat and vegetables to lighter meals such as salads, omelettes, pasta and prawn cocktails. Our main meal of the day, as chosen by our residents remains to be at lunch time at around 13.00 hrs.
