About the property

We will support you in making your own decisions about how you want to live your life. We recognise the importance of maintaining relationships with family and friends. We support residents in pursuing hobbies and interests by offering a variety of activities from in house entertainment to regular outings.

Our care home has 11 good sized single rooms, seven of which are ensuite, with plans to upgrade the remaining facilities. There is an ongoing development programme to ensure that the house is maintained to the highest standards, looks attractive and meets the changing needs of older people.

The three rooms on the first floor have lift access and all the ground floor rooms have garden views. Residents are encouraged to furnish their room with their own furniture for the personal touch. All meals are home-cooked and we have continuously been awarded 5-star rating for hygiene by AVDC "Scores on the door" environmental health scheme.

Stonehill House is a traditional converted house with a garden, and was registered as a residential care home in 1986. Haddenham benefits from a good bus service, train station, local shops, health centre and dental practice. There are Church of England, Baptist, Methodist and Catholic churches within Haddenham.

Meet our staff

We have a fantastic team of staff and volunteers, without whom Stonehill House would not be the wonderful care home it is.

In 2010 our house manager, Lindsey McGibbon, won the Great British Care Awards South East Care Manager of the Year, while the chair, Margaret Aston, won the Abbeyfield Society Royal Patrons Award, in recognition of their commitment in providing excellent care for elderly people. Both have been with the care home since it opened in 1985.

DancingOur volunteers arrange a wide variey of social activities and events. Residents are encouraged to pursue their own interests and hobbies and and to take part in local community activities.
