About the property

Pratt House is situated on the outskirts of the market town of Amersham in the Chiltern Hills. It is North West of London and has a direct rail route into the capital.

Set in a quiet location in its own beautiful grounds, Pratt House is close to local services and amenities, such as shops, a leisure centre and garden centre’s. It accommodates 29 residents in 29 single rooms all with en suite, many overlooking our beautiful garden and surrounding fields.

Rooms can be decorated to personal preferences and we encourage you to bring your own furniture and photos along to make your room your own.

We will support you in making your own decisions about how you want to live your life. We recognise the importance of maintaining relationships with family and friends and we support residents in pursuing hobbies and interests by offering a variety of activities from in house entertainment to regular outings.

Our care home’s well trained and dedicated staff provide 24-hour care and support to help you maintain your chosen lifestyle, adapting as your needs change. We do not have a high turnover of staff – unlike most care homes – and therefore we do not need to use agency staff, so your continuity of care and support is guaranteed.

At Pratt House we believe that Activities are the heartbeat of the home and recognise the importance of enhancing our residents’ quality of life by providing a varied range of social activities.

We pride ourselves on the quality of our catering, with our Chefs, Ian and Jane preparing meals daily from fresh, locally sourced seasonal ingredients.

Come and visit us at any time. We’re here to help and look forward to giving you a warm welcome.

We recognise the importance of maintaining relationships with family and friends and we support residents in pursuing hobbies and interests by offering a variety of activities from in house entertainment to regular outings.

Our care home has 2 dedicated Activity Coordinators who arrange and organise a variety of opportunities for our residents to enjoy daily activities at Pratt House 7 days per week. They are supported by a group of volunteers who are happy to spare time to come and work with us here at Pratt House.

Residents preferred activities, interests and ability are discussed when they move in and an agreed plan ensures that these requests are fulfilled. Our residents’ suggestions for activities also help shape the planning process.

As well as taking time to find out residents previous hobbies and interests our team ensure that these are combined with new activities that residents may enjoy and which enhance our residents’ lifestyle, health and wellbeing. We also offer social events in the home, including themed restaurant evenings, arts and crafts, quizzes and regular entertainers.

The activity programme is changed each week so that there is always something new and interesting.
