Retirement Housing With A Warm Welcome

Oxford House provides retirement accommodation for older people who want support to live independently but in a friendly environment.

The house consists of nine en-suite rooms which are unfurnished so that residents can furnish their rooms for a real home from home ambience. It includes a communal lounge, dining room, and garden. 

At Oxford House, we provide fresh home cooked meals twice a day and living with us you have peace of mind of 24 security, and the knowledge here is someone there in an emergency.

Our services are personalised to meet the needs of our residents. The house runs some activities and events - so there is always something going on. We believe later life should be enjoyable and full, so call us today to see what we can offer.

Independence In A Social Environment


Active In Later Life

Friendship Independence Support Help (FISH) lunches and concerts, talks and pub lunches are organised by volunteers and are held regularly. We offer a range of activities for our residents to take part in which are especially suited for older people - for example our scrabble club meets every week.

Coffee mornings and afternoon teas are held daily in the lounge and we also hold a church service, organised by our local Vicar, once every month.

KitchenHome Cooked Food  

We provide two tasty and nutritious meals, freshly prepared in our kitchen, and served in our communal dining room so that mealtimes are a social occasion. Residents have breakfast making facilities in their own rooms so they can have their breakfast whenever they want, for a gentle start to the day.

Lunch - Haddock mornay with new potatoes, carrots, spinach and green beans. Stewed apple and custard
Supper - Soup or Scrambled egg on toast. Cheesecake

Tuesday
Lunch - Beef curry with rice and mixed vegetables. Poached pears with icecream.
Supper - Soup or Cheese and tomato flan with salad. Cheesecake

Wednesday
Lunch - Roast chicken and stuffing with roast potatoes, peas, carrots and broccoli. Lemon meringue pie.
Supper - Soup or fish cakes and grilled tomato. Creme caramel.

Thursday
Lunch - Pork chop with apple sauce, new potatoes, red cabbage, carrots and green beans. Stewed plums and custard.
Supper - Soup or jacket potato with cottage cheese or beans

Friday
Lunch - Baked cod with parsley sauce, potatoes, carrots and spinach. Lemon sponge and sauce.
Supper - Soup or tomato or mushroom toast. Yoghurt or icecream.

Saturday
Lunch - Braised lamb steak with rosemary and garlic mashed potato, spring greens, swede and mange tout. Peach flan and cream.
Supper - Soup or ham, egg or tuna salad with coleslaw. Banana cake. 

Sunday
Lunch - Roast beef and yorkshire pudding with roast potatoes, roast onions, sprouts and carrots. Fresh fruit salad and cream.
Supper - Buffet supper.
