Overview

Mansil House supported accommodation was built in 1977 and consists of 13 flats. Most rooms are en suite and all rooms are unfurnished so you can bring your own furniture, giving it a real home from home ambience.

We also have a very comfortable lounge so there is always somewhere to sit in company and have a chat, and a pretty well-maintained garden so you can sit out and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine.

We have a visiting mobile hairdresser and chiropodist. A lift and two assisted bathrooms mean that the house is suitable for the less mobile.

There is a fabulous team of volunteers who help out with lifts into town and organising outings, or are just around for someone to have a cup of tea and a chat with.

Life at the house

Arts and craftsWe organise a number of activities every day as well as special events, especially suitable for older people, so there's always something to keep you occupied or to look forward to. Although we encourage residents to join in there is never any pressure to do so, so if you'd rather enjoy your own company in our peaceful surroundings, that's absolutely fine.

Regular activities include:

• Coffee mornings
• Afternoon tea
• Arts and crafts
• Gentle exercise classes

Ad hoc events include:

• Pub lunches
• Day trips to local attractions
• Birthday parties
• Christmas party

Dining areaWe have a dedicated on site house manager with a real empathy for older people. She ensures that the house is warm, comfortable and safe and that the daily meals provided are varied, nutritious and enjoyable. Lunch and dinner are both home-cooked and served in the communal dining room, making mealtimes a social occasion, while residents make breakfast in their own rooms – a gentle start to the day.
