Nursing Home, Buckinghamshire
Care Home
At Leonard Pulham Nursing Home, we are privileged to have a fantastic, diverse team who are passionate about delivering high quality, personalised care. We are able to offer a broad spectrum of services ranging from weekly respite periods to end of life care and our ratio of nursing staff to residents is high. Our Trustee Body (Executive Committee) currently has ten members, with a wide range of professional backgrounds in Medicine, Human Resources, Accountancy, Law, Business, Health & Safety and Risk Assessment, Nursing and Surveying.
We are fortunate to have a very experienced full – time activities co-ordinator, who organises group and 1-1 activities on a daily basis during the week. There are a wide range of activities on offer ranging from the knit & natter group and various classes including art, flower arranging and Zumba to general knowledge quizzes, cards & dominoes and Bingo. P.A.T. dogs visit regularly and give a huge amount of pleasure to the residents. These very special dogs bring everyday life closer, together with all the happy associations of home comforts and unconditional love. Outings are organised throughout the year and these include places of local interest, pub lunches and pantomime visits, to name but a few .Specially adapted vehicles are hired to ensure that residents of all abilities are able to take part. During the summer we utilise our garden to its fullest potential. When the weather is fine, we often have BBQ’s and strawberry cream teas. We also hold our annual Summer Garden Party for our residents, their families and members of the local community to attend. Music is a big part of our Home and numerous choirs and individuals regularly visit to entertain our residents and to have a good sing-a-long. The Home also has a strong relationship with local churches and regular services are held within the Home for those who wish to attend. We welcome all families and friends to any or all of our events.
With the majority of our produce sourced locally, meals are tasty, nutritious and home-made in our kitchen with all individual preferences and specialist diets catered for. Meal times are a real social occasion and we have a lovely shared dining room, two living rooms and a sun lounge, so there is always someone around for a chat.
