About the property

It is a converted building with a lovely well maintained garden and comfortable, modern accommodation comprising single rooms, all of which are ensuite. Residents may bring their own furniture to make it a home from home. Three home-cooked meals a day are provided by our catering team.

Facilities are available for family or friends to stay overnight.

We value your independence and you are free to come and go as you please and spend your time as you choose. We organise a wide range of social and leisure activities and you are welcome to join anything that appeals to you but participation is not obligatory; we welcome suggestions from residents and their family or friends.

The nearby award-winning Elmhurst Park is a haven for young and old alike, and always has a beautiful display of bedding plants to attract and delight.

Oh yes - and we have Purdy, our house cat!

Meet our staff

We are so proud of our tremendous team of staff and volunteers, without whom Highlands Residential Care just would not be the same.

Our compassionate house manager is a qualified nurse and has been with us since 2000. She is supported by a deputy manager with over 20 years' experience as a carer. We also have 28 care assistants, most of whom have at least NVQ level 2 in Care Delivery.

Responsible for all our tasty meals are the head chef and kitchen manager, and we also have domestic assistants and a part-time gardener and handyman.

We are lucky enough to have a network of dedicated volunteers, all of whom are carefully and legally vetted, who contribute to life at Highlands in a variety of ways.
