Located close to Braintree town centre, Great Bradfords House is an Extra Care Scheme that was purpose built in 2006. We have 33 one bedroom flats and two two bedroom flats, which are suitable for a couple. Each has a fitted kitchen and en suite shower room, and residents use their own furniture so the house has a very personal feel. There are lifts to all floors.
Great Bradfords House is situated on Coggeshall Road where you'll find a number of local shops and amenities nearby. We have a bus stop near our scheme and the train station is within walking distance, for those wishing to travel further afield.
Our dedicated, professional and supportive team of staff help you to remain as independent as possible, and we offer a very warm, friendly and cosy house with excellent communal spaces, which are perfect for residents looking to find companionship and wish to socialise.
One of our one bedroom flats has an entrance hall which has a large storage cupboard which leads into a good sized lounge and bedroom with an en-suite wet room. In the kitchen you'll find a good range of cupboards and storage and it includes a built-in oven.
For extra peace of mind and security, our brilliant team of carers are on site 24 hours a day, offering care packages and responding to emergencies.
Great Bradfords House is managed by the Abbeyfield Braintree, Bocking and Felsted Society.

Meet the team
Alison worked as a community carer for seventeen years before joining Abbeyfield in 2017. In 2021 she took on the position of House Manager which involves looking after the general well-being of the residents. She is also responsible for a small team which includes the kitchen and domestic staff. She finds the job very rewarding especially when she sees residents enjoying the many activities.When she isn't working, she like to cook and spend time with her family.
