Life at the house

At Brown's Field House we have a dedicated activities coordinator who plans daily social and leisure activities with our residents, such as karaoke, bingo, garden walks, pub lunches and exercise classes.

We have our own library of books and films for our residents to enjoy.
Music plays a big part in the house and there is an extensive collection of CDs to suit all tastes.

We arrange outings regularly and have previously visited shopping centres, gardens, national trust properties and theatres.

The staff here know that activity is important for the mind, body and soul and enjoy dancing & singing with our residents as well as organising pampering sessions in the salon.

Sherry is served in the lounge on a Friday and Sunday before lunch whilst the residents can catch up on what is in the newspapers, often we will have a quiz or sing along too.

Whats on the menu

We recognise that food is not only for maintaining health and well being, but also that the social aspects of food play a significant part in our lives.  Mealtimes are an opportunity to socialise and food is at the heart of many celebrations and special occasions.

All meals and drinks are provided and we offer a varied, wholesome menu.

The menus at Brown's Field House are Seasonal and are regularly reviewed with residents at meetings. All the food is freshly prepared on site by Samantha our cook.

Residents have the choice of two main dishes and desserts at lunchtime.  Food can be served in residents rooms if they do not wish to go to the dining room. Hot and cold food options are available at suppertime with lots of snacks, cakes and biscuits in-between meals if residents feel peckish.

Breakfast is served on a tray in residents’ rooms so mornings are relaxed with no rush to get up.

Sam is happy to make birthday cakes and buffets for parties and can cater for individual dietary requirements including religious and cultural preferences.
