Established in 1986, Browns Field House has 28 rooms with some suitable for couples. Four of our rooms come with en-suite facilities and you will find walk in showers or assisted baths on every corridor. As a smaller house, we are very homely and our staff work hard to ensure that we offer a warm, friendly and supportive atmosphere.

One of our main values is being involved in the community and we have established excellent links including using local suppliers to provide the house with fresh produce for our nutritious home cooked meals. Additionally, we have great relationships with our local GP and district nurses who come to visit the house twice a month or as required.

We have many special areas you can explore including a telephone box, little shop where you can buy things and a beautiful sensory garden, which makes use of bright colour and contrast; found to make life easier for someone who is living with dementia, filled with flowers and sensory items. The house is also within easy reach of local shops, the community centre, post office and pubs.

Life at the house

We understand the importance of putting on a range of activities and events for our residents to allow them to actively participate and join in with other residents. We have an omiVista, which is an interactive floor and table projection system, where residents can take part, engage and socialise with other residents by playing games and listening to music.

Additionally we have memory coffee sessions, baking and cooking sessions, karaoke, a pianist saxophonist, music therapy, board games, a couple who come and sing for the residents, painting sessions and recently went out on a trip to the pub. Throughout the year we put on special events including garden parties, Christmas party, a summer BBQ and dressing up at Halloween and celebrate birthdays with a special cake.
