Overview

We provide a peaceful, friendly atmosphere where residents are supported to remain as independent as possible. Abbeyfield Reigate has excellent train and bus links just a short walk away, and we are close to the historic town centre, which has a great range of shops, banks as well as cinema and library.

The house has capacity for 9 residents, with most rooms fully en-suite, and the communal areas include a sitting room, dining room, conservatory and large garden which residents are welcome to help keep tidy!

A traditional home cooked meal is provided each lunchtime by our House Manager who takes account of the dietary needs of our residents as required.

This house is managed by Abbeyfield Reigate

Life at the house

Regular activities include:

  • Weekly shopping trip (every Tuesday morning) - residents are brought by volunteers to Reigate town centre so that they can visit the bank, library or shop at the local supermarket.
  • Open house coffee morning – this is also a weekly activity where friends of Abbeyfield Reigate pop-in to chat with residents.
  • Friday night quiz night – all our residents enjoy a weekly gathering in the conservatory for a chat and challenge with our weekly quiz night run by volunteers.
  • Arts and crafts – one of our volunteers runs a monthly group which focuses on craft activities. The residents are currently focussed on a project knitting squares for blankets for a charity in South Africa.
  • Armchair aerobics – a fun activity which our residents enjoy takes place regularly at the house.

Alongside these regular activities we have:

  • A Summer and Christmas event where resident families join us to raise funds for Abbeyfield Reigate, as well as enjoy catching up with friends and family.
  • Outings organised by volunteers have been to locations such as RHS Wisley, Bluebell Railway, Denbies, and the House Manager organises regular outings for cream teas, or pub lunches.

Activities at Abbeyfield House are a big part of what makes this a great place to live. We want our residents to enjoy their time here fully.

Meal times are important at Abbeyfield House - when residents come together to enjoy great food and socialise. We offer a range of healthy and nutritious food that caters for all the needs of our residents.

Our dining room is the heart of the house where we all come together and our residents love the tasty food our chef makes!
