Overview

Abbeyfield House in Canterbury has changed a bit over the years to make life easier for our residents, but the house has kept its charming character. 

It well situated, well decorated and has a beautiful garden and patio for the residents and their families to use on a fine day.

Abbeyfield House in Canterbury isn’t large, but offers residents the feeling of being in a big home! It is a welcoming and homely place, with friendly staff who have been working together for many years.

Activities at the house

The activities in the house vary depending on the time of year and what our residents would like to do.

Some of the activities we run are:

  • Days out
  • Afternoon teas
  • Film nights
  • Pets As Therapy sessions 

We also have a hairdresser and chiropodist that come to visit regularly. 

We're always happy to hear any ideas that residents may have for activities they would like to do.

After all, it is for them.

Our Food

Our food is all home-cooked, ensuring different tastes and preferences are all catered for. We make sure no resident is made to feel left out. 

We offer a wide, varied menu and ensure that everyone can enjoy a balanced diet. Everything is always cooked fresh on the day.

Some of our favourite meals at the house: 

  • Chicken breast on a bed of baby spinach and gnocchi, served with a creamy gorgonzola sauce.
  • Smoked salmon stuffed with prawns and egg, in a light merry rose sauce.
  • Creamy mushroom risotto
  • Chinese chicken stir-fry rice
  • Macaroni and cheese
