Overview

Seascapes is a lovely Edwardian house with 10 rooms/suites all with modern en-suite facilities. These rooms and suites are all light, airy and maintained to a very high standard including independently controlled radiators, carpeting, a kitchenette with facilities (microwave cooker, fridge and electric kettle) for making your own snacks and drinks. Some suites have a balcony overlooking the rear garden. You can bring your own furnishings so your private space is to your style -just how you want it.

The communal areas of the house are all decorated and furnished to a very high standard. There is a communal lounge with a games area and a dining room plus a conservatory with a house TV. At the rear of the house is a pretty walled garden with shaded seating and a patio area.

Other house facilities include a lift, visitor parking and Careline/emergency button. We also arrange regular outings and events.

We offer an inclusive package covering all ‘home cooked’ meals, laundry, room cleaning, utility costs, etc. for a monthly rental. The only additional cost to you is for your own landline telephone.

Come and visit our house to see if Abbeyfield Worthing can offer you the 'home from home' you are looking for. All potential new residents are asked to stay for a no obligation week’s trial to ensure our community at Seascapes is right for you and is exactly what you require.

Abbeyfield Worthing Activities

The Abbeyfield Worthing Society is always very pleased to organise activities and events for our residents depending on the wishes of the residents themselves. Outings are organised as required and usually involve a cup of tea somewhere along the way, either at a garden centre or local attraction. Other events include our Christmas party which last year included games and a local church choir singing carols to us.

We also have ‘singalongs’ and residents at one of our houses organised for a trainer to come and give interested residents some armchair yoga. Trips out for lunch are organised several times a year and have proved very popular.

Residents also organise their own card game events or other board games and usually have a jigsaw or two on the go.

We know at Abbeyfield Worthing that good wholesome freshly cooked food is something all our residents look forward to having daily. ‘Home cooking’ is a term widely used these days but in our case that is exactly what we have. Lunch (our main meal of the day) is always freshly cooked with a meat or fish-based dish accompanied by freshly cooked vegetables. Our menus are developed along with input from our residents and we also take account of any dietary issues or concerns a resident may have. Sweets and sticky puddings are also home cooked and are always available for lunch.

Typical food would include traditional dishes such as roast meat, homemade pies, poached or fried fish, toad in the hole etc., all accompanied with potatoes in one form or another along with a selection of seasonal vegetables. However, residents also like some more ‘exotic’ foods so curries, chilli and other such dishes also regularly feature.

Evening tea is served around 5.30 p.m. and is usually a light, cooked meal served with bread, butter, cake etc. Residents take these main meals in the dining room. All resident rooms also have a kitchenette with a microwave, fridge and kettle for preparing their breakfast and any snacks required at other times of the day (or night).
