Deputy Nursing Manager, Nottingham

We are looking for a Deputy Nursing Manager in Nottingham to deputise for the Registered Manager, taking responsibility for all aspects of managing the home.

You will assist the Home Manager in maintaining a high quality service that meets regulatory requirements and standards and also assist the Manager to ensure the best use of resources available to meet the needs of residents.

You will work with others within Abbeyfield to promote the home in a positive and professional manner and encourage involvement of residents, relatives, friends and the local community.You will provide effective leadership and advice, guidance and support for nursing and care staff through supervision, support and mentoring in all aspects of care and also assess, monitor and review clinical practice of the nursing staff team to ensure best practice.

Responsibilities will include:

    • Assisting the Home Manager to promote the physical, social, intellectual and emotional well-being, and independence of residents using comprehensive needs and risk assessments
    • Developing, implementing, monitoring and reviewing individual person-centred care plans.
    • Promoting clinical best practice with the nursing staff team
    • Assisting the Home Manager to consult residents about all matters which concern them and ensure regular residents’ meetings are held and recorded.
    • Encouraging resident involvement and participation in the day to day running of the home.
    • Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues, volunteers and visiting professionals including regulators.
    • Supporting and work closely with families and friends offering them professional and emotional support, which is sensitive to their needs.
    • Assisting the Home Manager to ensure that all Abbeyfield policies and procedures, especially those concerned with the well-being of residents, are implemented.
