Hours: Part Time (17.5 hours per week) 2 week rotating shifts

Salary: £10.55 per hour

At Abbeyfield we aim to support residents to live independently. You will be responsible for providing two home cooked meals per day, maintaining a clean and tidy kitchen and environment as well as complying with Health and Safety policies, procedures as well as supporting residents when necessary.  

You will be responsible for cooking breakfast and lunch while adhering to dietary requirements. You will be supported by the Senior House Manager. All training will be given and you will have regular supervision. You will work as part of a team that support each other and help to raise Abbeyfield’s profile in the area. 

The successful candidate will have an understanding of the needs of older people and an ability to work on own initiative. It is essential that you are a competent cook and a Food Hygiene Certificate/First Aid qualification would be desirable.

Above all, you need to care as much as we do about making a difference for older people living with us.

Due to the responsibilities of the role it is a requirement that you are able to read and write to a good standard, have the ability to communicate and interact well with people at all levels as well as working in conjunction with a team. You will have an understanding of the needs of older people and have a friendly, caring and supportive manner ensuring all area's are clean and tidy at all times.  

Lee House provides a safe and secure environment for its residents in which they can continue to live as independently as possible, with assistance and support from staff.
