We are a charity providing providing high quality housing accommodation and championing the needs of elderly people. We believe in making time for older people to enhance their quality of life. For us that means engagement with our residents; chatting and listening without worry for time pressure.
We all share the same values; caring, honest, open and respectful; putting the needs of our residents first.
We are committed to promoting health and wellbeing for those who come to live with us, providing purpose and bringing enjoyment to daily life in a charming environment.
The Housekeeper is a very diverse position and whilst the main part is to provided high quality food for our residents there are many other aspects to the job. These include the general day to day running of the house, food orders and menu planning, supporting residents, maintaining the property, including reporting and monitoring repairs, admin tasks include (but not exclusive to) – daily checks, reading and answering emails, distribution of information to other staff members and keeping residents files up to date. This is an extremely rewarding role as you are making a difference to the resident’s wellbeing everyday.
We recognise the importance of maintaining relationships with family and friends and we encourage residents in pursuing hobbies and interests by offering a variety of activities from in house entertainment to outings.
We want to keep all areas of our care home as welcoming as possible. Every resident should enjoy a clean and well maintained environment that is presented to the highest standard and this role is key to this.
You will work within the housekeeping schedules as set by the Home Manager. These duties may cover cleaning of the residents bedrooms, the communal areas and offices.
You respect residents wishes and preferences and work well as part of a team to ensure all residents needs are met in relation to housekeeping.
You are responsible for the use of housekeeping equipment and cleaning products and use these in line with agreed budgets and COSHH requirements. You aim to reduce wastage and report any defects in a timely manner.
I like to ensure that staff have the support and trained needed to carry out their role to a high standard. When recruiting new staff members I look for people who are caring, respectful and eager to learn as well as thrive and shine within their working environment and also show a high level of commitment to the job. If you are successful you will join a small team who all support each other and share our values. You will receive a full induction carried out by a competent member of staff and have regular 121’s with me. Once your induction is complete we will focus on developing your knowledge and skills further, offering additional support, guidance and training to allow you to develop to the best of your ability within the team.
