Bank Housekeeper, Falmouth, Cornwall

We are recruiting a Bank Housekeeper for our home in Falmouth, Cornwall. In this role you'll help maintain a clean environment in all areas of the house to maximise our residents' comfort and overall enjoyment of their surroundings. You will be part of a happy, friendly and well-supported team and ensure all communal areas of the house are clean and tidy at all times and to the required standards.

Tresillian House, formerly a hotel, is located close to the town centre with excellent public transport links to the shops and attractions of Falmouth and just a 3 minute walk to the seafront. We have 12 en-suite rooms all with kitchenette facilities and parking on our forecourt.

The Housekeeper is a very diverse position and whilst the main part is to provide high quality food (lunch and tea) for our 12 residents, there are many other aspects to the job. These include the general day to day running of daily house, health and safety checks, food orders and menu planning, monitoring resident welfare, maintaining the property, including reporting and monitoring repairs, admin tasks include (but not exclusive to) – daily checks, reading and answering emails, distribution of information to other staff members and keeping residents files up to date (basic knowledge of computer work is essential). This is an extremely rewarding role as you are making a difference to the residents' well-being every day.

We recognise the importance of maintaining relationships with family and friends and we encourage residents in pursuing hobbies and interests by offering a variety of activities from in house entertainment to outings.

We want to keep all areas of our care home as welcoming as possible. Every resident should enjoy a clean and well maintained environment that is presented to the highest standard and this role is key to this.

You will work within the housekeeping schedules as set by the Home Manager. These duties may cover cleaning of the residents' bedrooms, the communal areas and offices.

You are responsible for the use of housekeeping equipment and cleaning products and use these in line with agreed budgets and COSHH requirements. You aim to reduce wastage and report any defects in a timely manner.

You respect residents' wishes and preferences and work well as part of a team to ensure all residents' needs are met in relation to housekeeping. You will liaise with health care practitioners and must be able to emphasise with our elderly clientele.  No care/no medication/no manual handling is required in this post.
