Abbeyfield Salisbury are looking for a Casual Relief / Bank Cook to cover holidays and sickness as and when required.

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the needs of older people, experience of working with the public and an ability to work under their own initiative. A Food Hygiene Certificate qualification would be desirable but above all you must care about making a difference to the lives of older people as much as we do.

You will assist in providing healthy and nutritious food for our residents. By keeping all kitchen and store areas clean and hygienic and following all hygienic practices you help protect our residents and keep them safe.

Meal times are really important to our residents and your role is crucial to making them as enjoyable as possible. You are committed to maintaining the highest standards in the kitchen, during the food preparation process and meal delivery.

Abbeyfield Salisbury consist of 2 sheltered houses which are situated on the same site, only a 10 min walk from the city centre. The capacity of both houses is 20 residents. Friendly working environment where staff enjoys interacting with residents and using their own initiative.

Currently we have 2 permanent housekeepers/ cooks working at Abbeyfield Salisbury and 1 General Assistant. They have good knowledge of Abbeyfield, great work ethics and are friendly and supportive. You will be reporting to Agata Worth- the Senior House Manager for Wiltshire and Dorset.

The role requires providing nutritious meals for up to 20 residents, basic cleaning duties, basic administrative tasks and general day to day running of the house
