We are looking for a cook in Castleton to provide healthy and nutritious food for our residents while maintaining the highest standards in the kitchen, during the food preparation process and meal delivery.
Location: Langburn Bank , Castleton , Whitby , North Yorkshire , YO21 2ED
Hourly Rate: £9.45 per hour
Hours: 8 hours fixed Term
At Abbeyfield we aim to support residents to live independently providing two freshly cooked meals per day. You will be responsible for cooking, and assisting in providing healthy and nutritious food for our residents. Keeping all kitchen and store areas clean and hygienic and following all hygienic practices to help protect our residents and keep them safe.
Meal times are really important to our residents and your role is crucial to making them as enjoyable as possible. You are committed to maintaining the highest standards in the kitchen, during the food preparation process and meal delivery. You therefore manage the cleaning procedures and schedules for the kitchen in line and even exceeding the relevant Environmental Health standards and those expected by the Cook
The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the needs of older people, experience of working with the public and an ability to work under their own initiative. A Food Hygiene Certificate qualification would be desirable but above all you must care about making a difference to the lives of older people as much as we do.
main duties are: Cooking meals, completing forms, ordering of stock, liaising with our residents over the menus, ensuring the kitchen and dining area is maintained to a high standard.
