Head of Care Assistant, New Malden, Surrey

Abbeyfield, New Malden are looking to recruit a Head of Care to closely support the Home Manager, you will oversee the delivery of person-centred care and regularly review individual care plans and risk assessments.

Abbeyfield, New Malden are looking to recruit a head of care who can demonstrate compassion and empathy in their approach to caring for older people, either through previous roles in social care or in other roles.

New Malden accommodates 36 residents in 36 single en suite rooms. Established in 1999, it is purpose built and recently refurbished. We're a short drive away from the wonderful New Malden High Street, close to bus stops and the train station is 1.5 miles away. 

We will support residents in making their own decisions about how they want to live their life. We recognise the importance of maintaining relationships with family and friends and we support residents in pursuing hobbies and interests by offering a variety of activities from in house entertainment to regular outings.

We understand each person’s needs differ so at an Abbeyfield Dementia Care Home our staff offer a personalised approach to care giving, with security, independence and happiness at the heart of what they do.

Closely supporting the Home Manager, you will actively participate and supervise in the delivery of care to the residents, ensuring that their physical, social, intellectual and emotional needs are met. Responsibilities will include overseeing all the resident care plans in line with their preferences and assisting in the safe control of medication to residents. 

Working with the Home Manager, you'll ensure the preparation, implementation, review and update of all residents support plans. You'll also support and care for all residents, ensuring that their physical, social, intellectual and emotional needs are met while maintaining dignity, choice, independence and respect.

You will have a proven track record of leading, inspiring, motivating and directing personnel in customer facing roles, with a strong focus on delivering results.  You will have extensive management experience, ideally in a supported housing or care setting.
