Abbeyfield Care at Home service is an alternative to residential care. With over 60 years’ experience in providing care for older people we can help maintain their independence in the comfort of their own homes.
Abbeyfield are looking to recruit genuine, caring, flexible Care Assistants to visit elderly people in their own homes at set times in the local community. You will be expected to assist with personal care including washing, toileting, catheter and stoma care etc. you will also help with meal preparation, eating and drinking and also general domestic duties such as vacuuming and bin emptying.

Working as a Care at Home Assistant for Abbeyfield you will ensure that services are provided that respect individual rights and choices while offering support, empathy, compassion and privacy.
We are looking for cheerful, approachable, knowledgeable and professional Care Assistants who have a motivated and enthusiastic approach along with a positive attitude.
Excellent communication skills both verbally and written is essential. You will need to be able to work on your own initiative under pressure in an ever changing environment and demonstrate an empathy and understanding of the needs of older people. You must have access to your own transport and if you are a car driver, you must have a full drivers licence as the role involves travelling in your local community to a set schedule
Experience of working in a similar role within elderly services and a relevant level 2 or 3 qualification would be desirable.
