Bank Care Assistants, James House, Middlesex

£9.75 per hour

We are looking to recruit Bank Care Assistants who can demonstrate compassion and empathy in their approach to caring for older people, either through previous roles in social care or in other roles.

The role of a Care Assistant involves creating an atmosphere that is warm and welcoming, ensuring that every resident enjoys life with us to the full. Promoting the physical, social, intellectual and emotional wellbeing of our residents, you will assist in the promotion of their independence. Duties will include providing assistance to residents with their personal care to include washing, dressing and assisting residents in all aspects of their daily lives as required. 

Previous experience for this role is not essential but if you have the right values for our organisation, you will be supported by a programme of continuous training and development and if successful you must be qualified to NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent.

About James House

James House is a small, newly decorated property; full of beautiful original characteristics. It was originally a family home built in 1924. The house was home to a dental surgeon and his surgery during the 1920's until the early 1960's when it became a care home and acquired by The Abbeyfield Society in 1970.

James House is now a homely residential home which comprises of 7 single bedrooms and 5 en suite single bedrooms. The home accommodates12 residents and is safe, secure and comfortable. We are situated just 5 minutes walk away from Northwood metropolitan line station, with good parking facilities onsite.

To feel as at home as possible we do encourage our residents to bring personal belongings and furniture, this gives the home a wonderful personal touch. The living environment gives residents room to socialise as well as offering plenty of space for personal time, it is always your choice. At  James House, we feel it is important to make residents feel at home, we respect their rights of choice, dignity and respect, to a very high level at all times.
All bedrooms & bathrooms/toilets have their own pull chord alarms for peace of mind and added safety.

Our dedicated team comprises of 20 members of staff. We have 3 staff who have worked here between 15-25 years!

We also have many volunteers who spend time with our residents. We have volunteers from all age groups, from local schools and churches.
