£9.42 per hour
Average 35 hours per week, including alternate weekends, with flexibility to work 7 hours per day between 9:00 am and 8:00 pm according to requirements

Working as an Activities Co-ordinator for Abbeyfield you will take responsibility for arranging activities within the home, encourage residents to continue to participate in activities they enjoy, coordinate activities for residents and network within the local community.

Required to develop and deliver a varied and stimulating range of social activities alongside volunteers, designed to meet the needs of each of our residents.  You will ensure that all programmes continually meet the needs of each individual resident, reviewing and amending when necessary to changing needs. The role will require you to log evidence on the programme of activities of each resident for monitoring purposes.

Applicants should have previous experience and knowledge of the needs of older people, including people who have dementia. Able to communicate and adapt their relationship across a broad range of stakeholder groups and work flexibly, using their own initiative and within a team. Demonstrate a creative approach to planning activities whilst emphasising and understanding the needs of older people are essential traits.

Pratt House is situated on the outskirts of the market town of Amersham in the Chiltern Hills. Set in a quiet location in its own beautiful grounds, Pratt House is close to local services and amenities, such as shops, a leisure centre and garden centre’s. It accommodates 29 residents in 29 single rooms all with en suite, many overlooking our beautiful garden and surrounding fields.

We pride ourselves on the quality of our catering, with our Chefs, Ian and Jane preparing meals daily from fresh, locally sourced seasonal ingredients.  We know how important mealtimes are to our residents, so we always try to make this a sociable and enjoyable experience, whilst recognising individual choice.
