Abbeyfield Week begins in style!

On Saturday 11 June, Abbeyfield’s Ruby Moores House in Formby  got Abbeyfield week underway with a bumper open-door afternoon of celebrations including a garden party, a talent competition and live music from an Irish band.

The merriment was part of ‘Abbeyfield Week’, the annual week long celebration held by Abbeyfield to mark our birthday.

2016 is Abbeyfield’s diamond anniversary and a great number of our houses and homes across the UK will be holding simultaneous parties to recognise 60 years of the organisation and the work we do caring and championing the needs of older people.

Margaret Parker, Abbeyfield’s Area Housing and Resident Services Officer for Liverpool, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be taking part in this year’s Abbeyfield Week celebrations, especially as it is such a big year for our charity.

“Abbeyfield is all about friendly, nurturing and family-like environments and we fully encourage the community to get involved too.

“We’d welcome along anybody who wants to come and join in the fun with us and our residents on this special day so please do get in touch.”

Abbeyfield Week is Abbeyfield's annual birthday celebration, which this year marks the 60th year of the organisation. Find out more about this years event.
