Abbeyfield Locks Heath British Pie Lunch goes down a treat

Last Wednesday 4 March Abbeyfield Court in Locks Heath held their first annual British Pie Lunch.

Joining the regulars of Abbeyfield Court for the delicious feast were eight residents from nearby Gosport Abbeyfield, 24 residents from neighbouring Anchor housing, five members of the public that attend the home’s regular exercise group, five Locks Heath volunteers and even the Mayor, Councillor David Norris, and his wife Pamela. By the end of the afternoon, a total of 60 hungry tummies had been filled.

"We had a really great uptake on the British Pie Lunch and the homemade pies went down in no time at all" said Neil Thompson, Senior House Manager at Abbeyfield Locks Heath. "I don’t think there was a single leftover! Everybody I spoke with really enjoyed the event and we are definitely going to do this again next year. We even raised £140 for the house fund from our raffle which will go towards events like this in the future."
