Friends of Abbeyfield in Cambridge, a national charity that aims to enhance the quality of life for older people, will be hosting a garden party at Lucy Cavendish College on Friday 23rd July from 6.30pm – 8.30pm. The proceeds of the fundraising event will be used to benefit the residents of Abbeyfield’s two Cambridge-based houses and care home in the region.
For just £15.00, guests at the garden party will be granted the rare opportunity to access the beautiful houses and grounds of the esteemed College where they can enjoy wine and canapés.
It will be a great chance to learn more about Abbeyfield and the first opportunity for locals to find out more about Abbeyfield’s proposed multi-million pound development for retirement living in Girton, Cambridge.
Judy Murch, Honorary Treasurer of the Friends said: “We’ve been hosting the garden party for the past five years and its always well attended. Last year the Cambridge Abbeyfield Society managed to raise just over £1000. We used the money to pay for a number of day trips for our elderly residents throughout the year and a special Christmas meal with all the trimmings.”
There are a number of first rate prizes generously donated which can be won on the night including an overnight stay inclusive of breakfast at The Bristol Hotel, one of Bristol's finest luxury hotels.
If you would like to attend the garden party, please contact Judy Murch on 01223 425375.
