Abbeyfield Lee House in Wimbledon invite you to join them for an exclusive evening of fun and entertainment provided by The Royal Opera Covent Garden’s quartet, The Garden Party.
If you’d like to sort out your Carmen from your Cosi fan Tute, your Rigoletto from your Romeo and Juliette, then this is the event for you! Alternatively, if opera is something you always meant to learn more about, but never found the time, why not come along and hear some wonderful music in a gorgeous garden setting.
The purpose of the event is to both raise awareness of the House in the local community and to raise funds for social activities for the residents of the House. The evening, to be held in the picturesque grounds of Lee House, will consist of:
- a welcome glass of fizz
- an opening speech by Paul Allen, CEO of the Abbeyfield Society
- a programme of opera solos, ensembles, anecdotes and musical highlights
- a light buffet with wine
- raffle with quality prizes
The Garden Party is a group of highly talented soloists who have all sung roles with major international opera companies. Their maxim – that opera is enjoyable – makes the evening go with a swing! Their repertoire includes popular opera solos and ensembles, highlights from well-loved musicals and an assortment of amusing stories to set the scene for each section.
Tickets are £50, payable in advance. To find out more information, or buy a ticket, please either ring us on 0208 9460369 or email t.mclaughlin@abbeyfield.com.
