Abbeyfield in Scotland

There are around 60 Scottish Abbeyfield societies, who between them run around 70 houses. There are some very sheltered houses and a number of care homes, providing accommodation for around 650 older people. A volunteer management committee oversees the running of each Society.

The Scottish Region was set up on 1st November 2007 to coincide with the wind up of The Abbeyfield Society for Scotland Ltd. There are 23 Independent Societies in the region.

At the same time Abbeyfield Scotland Ltd was created on the 1st November 2007 from the merger of the Abbeyfield  Scotland and the Dumfries Society. 29 societies, one of which is a care home, merged with Abbeyfield Scotland on the 1st April 2008.

Abbeyfield in Scotland has properties all over the country and is committed to providing secure, supportive accommodation and companionship to the elderly. Abbeyfield in Scotland is working with all Regulatory Bodies, Independent Societies and Abbeyfield St Albans, to provide the best possible experience to residents and families.
