Abbeyfield Quorn wins Design Award
The Leicestershire branch of the Campaign to Protect Rural England recently announced the winners of its 2007 design awards. The Mary Holloway Garden Room Extension at Abbeyfield House in Quorn won a commended nomination in the category 'Building or group of buildings within an urban or rural area'.
This modern extension in the shape of a hexagon is built of cedar wood from sustainable sources. It forms part of a more conventional design of buildings used for the surrounding Abbeyfield House supported sheltered housing complex.
